Debbie, Nate's girlfriend, is home from U of I, Champaign. Nate has returned to his jovial self. (Note: Yet another hair change for the boy this year...I call this one the match head look.)
The 29-String Custom Aurora in Walnut by Heartland Harps that I've had since January 2004. The legs are removable, making it very portable.
The celtic knot design on my "little" harp comes from the Book of Kells; it's painted on a birdseye maple soundboard, simple but pretty. Below is the Celtic bird design on the side of the front pillar,
which was copied (with permission) from a design by Inge Bergman, a silversmith in County Clare, Ireland.
Still under 5', my "big" harp is a 36-string Triplett Signature in cherry wood, with a spruce soundboard and curly maple trim, very beautiful, with no other artwork. I've had it since August 2001. It has a rich, sweet tone; whereas the small Aurora is very mellow, and sounds like a guitar.
One More: The "Kinder Lyre" by Harps of Lorien. It's a pentatonic lyre in cherry, very soft and ethereal, sort of oriental-sounding. I actually won this at the first SW Harps Convention in 2004, in Asheville, NC.
