Last Day for Clay

Lola is DONE!

Yep, TODAY was our last day to build muscles on Lovely Lola.

I haven't kept up with posting pics (and believe me, I have TONS of pics), but I'll only throw a representative bunch of shots up here so as not to bore y'all to death with details.
She does have arms now (yeah!) and abs (oh baby).

[Remember: We only did the left side of the body!]

Here's Brandi holding Lola's arm and scapula (before we attached it), after we built the triceps and biceps, etc., just to show its relation (sort of) to a real body :

Below you can see some of the scapular muscles (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor), with the rhomboids in the mid-upper back, levator scapula, and the big latissimus dorsi muscle covering the lower back. (Just so you know: real bodies do not have screws holding their scapulas to their backs!).

Below, Brandi puts in the fibers for the trapezius muscle:

Here's a front view with the deltoid muscle (I did that!), serratus anterior (the spiky thing on the side) and pectoralis major. Y'can't see it, but pect minor is underneath the major:

A side shot of the internal abdominal oblique (covering the transverse abdominis)
and rectus abdominis down the front (the washboard muscle).
Look up close--I gave her an 'inny' belly button!

From this view you can see the external abdominal obliques peeking around from the front;
but the main shot is of the forearm extensor muscles.
It was hard to make these skinny enough so it didn't look like she had Popeye arms.

And here are the forearm flexors--the very last muscles we did today.
We applied 19 muscles this week just on the forearm alone .

And last but not least--Brandi the Poser!
She's been the best partner. The cheeriest, artsiest
kinesiology partner I ever could have hoped for.
I dubbed her "The Fiber Queen"--because she meticulously
drew all the fiber directions on every muscle!

We've got 2 more weeks of class: a forearm test next week, then lots of review, and finals (written & palpation) on Tuesday the 7th. On the 9th we have to take Lola apart!!! Oh the weeping and wailing!!! I'll take some pics, of course!

what do you do with Lola when you are done?
